what is manuka honey?

This specific type of honey is produced by bees that pollinate the Manuka bush, which is native to New Zealand and parts of Australia. It is a thicker, darker, more nutrient-dense honey.

Honey's benefits to oral care, such as being anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory, are well documented in both veterinary and clinical practices. [1, 2, 3, 4]

3

Manuka honey specifically is known for its strong bacteria-fighting and anti-inflammatory effects. Key compounds like hydrogen peroxide and methylglyoxal (MGO) found in the Manuka flowers make it a world renown wellness ingredient. [5, 6, 7]
